First and foremost, if you feel you need to stay in control, please contact us:
PGI & Responsible Gaming
Our Commitment
We at PGI encourage a socially responsible attitude within the betting and gaming industry and within our own organisation.
Our goal is to help our customers gain maximum enjoyment from their betting. Whilst for most customers gambling is an enjoyable leisure activity, we realise that some people’s gambling can get out of control, cease to become enjoyable and lead to financial difficulties. If any of our customers develop gambling problems and feel like they are losing control, we’ll help them get the support they need.
Furthermore, we’re committed to protecting children from being harmed or exploited by gambling and we employ robust age verification procedures.
To help you manage your gambling, we offer a range of advice and account options that allows you to stay in control of the time and money you spend gambling. We’re also committed to developing the most advanced betting tools to improve every part of the PGI gambling experience. Our highly trained and dedicated customer care team is available 24hrs, 7-days a week, to assist on dealing with any problem gambling issues or assist if you feel like you’re losing control. If you would like to talk to someone at PGI about problem gambling, please contact us.
There are also a number of independent problem gambling support services who offer a range of contact methods together with free and confidential advice.
Safer Gambling
Deposit Limits
Research shows that the risk of problem gambling may be reduced if customers decide in advance how much money they want to gamble with.
We openly encourage you to set a deposit limit to manage the amount of money that you can deposit into your account. Limits can be set for a 24-hours, 7-days or 30-days. You can decrease your deposit limits at any time and this will be applied immediately.
Before changing your deposit limits, carefully consider if you can afford to do so. Never decide to increase your limits if you’ve lost money and think you will win it back by gambling more.
If you wish to increase a limit, you’ll need to wait 24-hours before we can make the changes and then return to our site to confirm that you still want to increase it.
You can set, amend and confirm your deposit limits by contacting our team.
Account Closure
You can close your account at any time for any reason using our standard account closure by simply contacting our team.
Temporary Suspension
One of the things you can do to stay in control is set up a temporary suspension to give yourself a time-out from betting. Do this by 'disabling' your account.
You can choose to apply a temporary suspension for a period of 24-hours, 7-days or any period you choose.
Once a temporary suspension has been applied to your account, you will be unable to conduct any account activities.
To temporarily suspend, please contact our team to arrange for your account to be disabled.
Self-Exclusion
If you think you are spending too much time or money gambling, or if you feel that you are at risk of developing a gambling problem or believe you currently have a gambling problem, you should consider self-exclusion.
Self-exclusion allows you to restrict access to your account for a set period of time. You have the option to select a period of time that best suits your needs, ranging from the minimum term of 6-months, up to a maximum of 60-months.
While there is an active self-exclusion agreement in place on your account, you will be unable to place any bets and you will not be allowed to reactivate your account. You can request to recommence gambling after the self-exclusion period has finished, but you’ll need to complete a 24-hour cooling-off period prior to the account being reactivated. Once a self-exclusion has been applied to an account, we will remove the customer's name from our mailing and marketing lists as soon as possible. We will endeavour to do everything we can to prevent a new account from an excluded customer being opened during the period of self-exclusion.
Should you self-exclude from PGI, we strongly recommend that you self-exclude from all other gambling operators you have an account with.
Once you have self-excluded, we also strongly advise that you delete or uninstall all PGI related apps or downloads and make sure that all of the notifications have also been disabled. We also recommend that you remove, unfollow and block any Tote related social media. We also advise installing software that blocks access to gambling websites.
If you are concerned with the amount of time or money you spend gambling, or if you feel that you are at risk of developing a gambling problem or believe you currently have a gambling problem, we recommend that you seek support from a problem gambling support service to help you deal with your problem.
You can self-exclude your account by contacting our team for assistance and further information.
Stay in Control
We believe that gambling should always be an enjoyable leisure activity. Remembering these simple tips can help make sure your gambling does not become a problem.
- Gambling is a form of entertainment. It should not be seen as a way to make money or pay off your debts.
- Always bet sensibly. Never attempt to chase losses and never borrow money in order to continue gambling.
- Always set limits for depositing, betting and losses before you start playing.
- Only gamble what you can afford to lose. Use deposit limits to manage the amount of money you spend.
- Keep an eye on the amount of time you spend gaming. Set up reality checks to remind you how long you’ve been gaming.
- Your gambling should not interfere with your other daily responsibilities.
- Balance gambling with other activities. If gambling is your only form of entertainment, think about whether you are still having fun.
- Decide beforehand on a time limit for your playing session and stick to it. Within that period ensure that you take regular breaks from playing. - Gambling continuously can cause you to lose track of time and perspective. If you need help with self-discipline you can set up a temporary suspension on your account, which allows you to suspend your account from betting for a period of between 24-hours and six weeks.
- Gambling is not advised if you are in recovery for any dependency or under the influence of alcohol or any other substance, or if you are upset or depressed.
- Think about how much money you spend gambling. You can track your activity in your online account history.
- If you need to talk to someone about problem gambling, then contact our team or a problem gambling support service.

Recognise a Problem
Whilst the vast majority of our customers are able to gamble in a safe and responsible manner, for a small number of people gambling can have a harmful impact, which could result in personal, social, financial or health problems.
At PGI, we’ll do our best to provide the service and advice to help those customers stay in control, but we cannot assume total responsibility for a customer’s behaviour. There will always be an element of personal responsibility in respect of an individual’s gambling and the controls they put in place on their account.
Regularly self-assessing is also a good way to look back at your gambling habits; it can help you identify and recognise behaviours which could put you at risk of developing a problem.
To do so, we recommend that you use the self-assessment tool created by GamCare and for help and support.
GamCare will provide you with information of how gambling might be affecting your life and recommendations on where to find additional support.
If you are concerned that gambling may be negatively impacting yours or a friend’s life, then ask yourself the following questions:
- Have others ever criticised your gambling?
- Have you ever lied to cover up the amount of money or time you have gambled?
- Do arguments, frustrations or disappointments make you want to gamble?
- Do you gamble alone for long periods?
- Do you stay away from work or university to gamble?
- Do you gamble to escape from a boring or unhappy life?
- Are you reluctant to spend 'gambling money' on anything else?
- Have you lost interest in your family, friends or pastimes due to gambling?
- After losing, do you feel you must try and win back your losses as soon as possible?
- If you run out of money gambling, do you feel lost and in despair, and need to gamble again as soon as possible?
- Do you gamble until your last penny is gone?
- Have you lied, stolen or borrowed just to get money to gamble or to pay gambling debts?
- Do you feel depressed or suicidal because of your gambling?
The more you answer yes to these questions, the more likely you are to have a gambling problem. If you have answered yes to any of these questions, we recommend that you speak to someone about your answers. We train our employees to be aware of gambling problems and behaviours and we’re available to provide free help and support.
Another option available for self-assessment is the Problem Gambling Severity Index (PGSI) as shown on the GambleAware website: www.begambleaware.org/gambling-problems/do-i-have-a-gambling-problem/.
You can contact our customer care team if you have any questions, queries or concerns. We will treat all our communications with you with discretion. You can also contact a problem gambling support service. We also recommend that you consider self-exclusion.
Protection of Minors
In line with the UK Gambling Act and the Irish Betting Acts, you must be over 18 years of age to place a bet or register with Tote.
It is a criminal offence for minors to participate in gambling activity. All of our customers are comprehensively age verified to ensure that they are of legal age.
If our electronic checks are unable to verify the age of the player, we will ask for further information to confirm the player is of legal age. Accounts may be suspended and funds withheld until satisfactory proof of age is provided.
However, we understand that the internet is readily accessible in many homes around the world and we must work with parents to protect children from underage gambling. To make sure your children do not have access to gaming sites, we recommend installing filtering software and there are a number of third-party applications available:
Net Nanny
General blocking software that protects children from inappropriate web content. It blocks apps, filters websites and allows parents to gain complete visibility over their child’s online activity. Also available on iOS and Android devices. Find out more at www.netnanny.com
CYBERsitter
Filtering software that allows parents to choose which sites are blocked on their home devices. Find out more at www.cybersitter.com
GamBlock
Specific blocking software for gambling websites. Also available on Android devices. Find out more at www.gamblock.com
Better Internet for Kids: A website which is co-funded by the EU and provides information about internet filter software and also offers a free test version. Find out more at www.betterinternetforkids.eu
You may also want to familiarise yourself with the built-in parental controls on your mobile, tablet, PC or TV. We also suggest the following tips for parents:
- Do not leave children unattended with your device if you are using our products.
- Keep your username, password and deposit method details out of the reach of children.
- Always use a strong password on your gambling accounts.
- Do not permit anyone under 18 to participate in any gambling activity.
- Educate your children about the legality and the potential damage of underage gambling.
- Limit the length of time your children spend online.
- Take particular care if your child has access to a mobile or tablet device.
Unfortunately, no system is fool proof. If you suspect that someone under the age of 18 is gambling with PGI, please contact us to report this.
In accordance with our Terms and Conditions, if any of our customers are found to be under the age of 18-years old, the account will be suspended immediately, any unsettled bets will be made void and any winnings forfeited. Other legal ramifications may also apply.
Friends and Family
We recognise that problem gambling not only affects the gambler, but also their friends and family, and often people who develop a problem do not realise it. If you are concerned that a friend or family member has developed a gambling problem, here are some of the possible warning signs:
- Uncontrolled spending.
- Spending significant amounts of time gambling.
- Concealing or lying about their gambling behaviour.
- Borrowing money or stealing in order to gamble.
- Their gambling is impacting relationships or causing arguments.
- Withdrawal from activities with family and friends.
- Loss of interest in hobbies or leisure pursuits.
- Neglecting work or studies.
We recommend that you encourage the individual to contact PGI to discuss their behaviour and to seek help. You can of course contact our team yourself to discuss the matter. There are also gambling support services that are available to help people affected by problem gambling.
